InfantID
Identity that starts on day one.
Most identity systems wait. By the time a child can be enrolled in a school, a clinic, or a national ID register, years can pass without a verifiable link back to the person they belong to. InfantID closes that gap. It captures usable fingerprints from the first day of life, recaptures them as the child grows, and anchors a single identity that carries forward through every system that comes next.
Tiny Fingers, Real Fingerprints
Infant fingerprints are smaller, softer, and harder to capture than adult prints. Most systems give up there. IB's hardware and SDK don't.
Adult sensors, adult algorithms.
- Small finger size, thin skin, and indistinct ridges defeat sensors built for adult hands
- Vernix, skin elasticity, and rapid growth distort the few captures that adult-tuned algorithms accept
- Matching engines tuned to adult ridge density discard the result as low quality
- Early-life captures fall short of the resolution needed by ABIS and AFIS systems
- Paper records and photo IDs become the de facto fallback for childhood identity
Capture, enhancement, and matching, built for the youngest hands.
- LES sensor that maintains ridge contact on day-zero hands
- SDK algorithms that adjust, isolate, and normalize the image without distortion
- 500 DPI output that interoperates with ABIS and AFIS systems already in the field
- Day 0 to Day 900 captures, then bridged to standard Appendix F adult enrollment
- Immutable Evidence of Origin (IEO), anchored at birth and carried forward
Inside the InfantID SDK
The InfantID SDK extends IBScan Ultimate with image-processing techniques tuned to the scale and softness of infant ridges. Each one is a small adjustment. Together, they produce a print that any standard matching engine can read.
Remapping
Adjusts the captured image to a standard reference geometry without introducing the distortion that breaks future matching.
Region of Interest
Isolates the part of the image that carries real ridge information, ignoring the surrounding noise of a small palm pressed against the sensor.
Quality Analysis
Analyzes image quality so only captures that meet the threshold for future-matchable use move downstream.
Segmentation
Cleanly separates each fingerprint when several appear together in one capture, which happens more often with infants than adults.
Normalization
Resolves the image to a standard 500 DPI so the same fingerprint matches across any market-standard biometric engine, today and a decade from now.
Hardware. Software. Service.
InfantID is not a single device. It is the combination of the right scanner, the right algorithms, and the right team to put both into the field where infants are being registered.
A scanner that works on the smallest hands.
IB's LES sensor maintains ridge contact on day-one hands without the pressure, latent residue, or platen-cleaning routine that traditional optical scanners require.
- 500 DPI capture from day one through age three
- Field-ready across hospitals, clinics, and remote deployments
- Low power consumption, no fragile glass platen
The InfantID SDK, layered on top of IBScan Ultimate.
The same SDK that integrators already use for IB's hardware line, extended with the image-processing layer that makes infant captures matchable for the rest of the child's life.
- Extension of the IBScan Ultimate SDK
- 500 DPI output for market-standard matching engines
- Multi-platform support, in line with IBScan Ultimate
The IB team that helps put it in the right hands.
InfantID deployments touch hospitals, registries, and humanitarian programs, and each one is different. IB's support team is part of the deployment, not an afterthought.
- Direct line to the IB support team, not a ticket queue
- Responsive, knowledgeable, and quick to act
- High marks on service from customers in the field
Where InfantID Belongs
Anywhere a child is being seen, served, or counted, an InfantID capture can anchor the record to the right person and keep that link intact as the child grows.
Hospital and registrar birth records.
Tie a verifiable identity to the birth certificate, with mother and child prints linked at registration, so the legal record holds when the paper moves, fades, or gets reissued.
Vaccination and maternal-child programs.
Make sure the dose, the visit, and the follow-up belong to the same child across years of clinic visits, especially when caregivers change.
Aid, resettlement, and displaced-population work.
Identify children inside flows that lose documents constantly: refugee transit, emergency response, family-reunification casework.
