Our Story
Headquartered in Spartanburg, SC, Integrated Biometrics was founded in 2002 as an alternative solution to the commonly used traditional optical and silicon fingerprint technologies.
As a pioneer in biometric technology, our talented team designs and manufactures patented technologies that provide unique benefits and solutions that overcome the limitations of other biometric technologies.
We continue to grow as a global provider of biometric solutions, with advanced, high-resolution touchless identification SDK software and FBI-certified fingerprint sensors for law enforcement, military operations, homeland security, national identity, election validation, social services, and a wide range of commercial applications. We've been honored with the Inc 5000 award consecutively from 2016 to 2022.

Shawn O'Rourke
CEO
Shawn has over 20 years' experience in successfully leading new product and technology development with extensive experience in business development, technology deployment, commercialization, intellectual property, and product management. Prior to joining IB, he was CTO and Vice President of Business Development at dpiX, a global leader in flat panel semiconductors. Shawn's interest in product development has spanned bioMEMS, aerospace components, digital imaging arrays and flexible displays for next-generation electronic devices. His work on the latter was noted by Wired magazine as one of the 'Top Ten Technology Breakthroughs of 2008.' Shawn holds more than 20 patents, earned an MBA in Technology Management from Arizona State University and a MS in Materials Science from the University of Washington.
Doug Loy, PhD
President, IB Korea & CTO
Dr. Doug Loy has over 20 years' experience with an extensive background in applied research and commercialization of new flexible electronic materials and process technologies including flat-panel (and flexible) displays, TFT, OLED, LCD, electrophoretic/e-paper, touch, optical films, sensors, biometrics, haptics and electro-optic materials. He possesses over 13 issued US patents (25 international), 6 pending patent applications and 17 peer reviewed publications in novel materials and process technology. He earned his PhD in Chemistry with focus on Organic Light Emitting Devices (OLED) from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Arizona.
David Gerulski
Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing
David brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in high-growth technology companies including Internet Security Systems, VistaScape Security Systems, Steelbox Networks and Oversight Systems among others. David holds a business degree from West Valley College. He has built successful brands, led sales, marketing and business development organizations. He contributes to news outlets and has been featured as a security expert in national media.
Demian Bigelow
Executive Vice President, Software Engineering
Demian has over 20 years of experience in technology-based companies. His prior roles include Chief Software Engineer, Consultant, and Senior Officer. He has extensive experience in hardware and software, architecting, as well as leading biometric projects. He holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from Boston University.
Tracy Roughton
VP of Finance
Highly-accomplished finance and accounting professional with ten years of progressive finance and operations management experience. Demonstrated success in streamlining operations and improving efficiency. Experienced in developing and implementing financial controls and processes. Solid leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success establishing rapport with all levels of staff and management. Skilled in effectively and clearly communicating complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
