Sherlock
Embedded fingerprint capture, under 55 grams.
Sherlock is the FAP 45, FBI Appendix F-certified two-finger fingerprint scanner built to disappear inside other devices. At under 55 grams and roughly the size of a credit card, it captures certified two-finger flats and single-finger rolls with no membranes, no consumables, USB-powered, and on the same unified SDK as the rest of the IB line.
Why Sherlock
Faster
- Rapid dry finger capture
- No need to clean latent prints in high-volume situations
- Easy integration via single SDK for all Integrated Biometrics FBI-certified products
Better
- Unaffected by extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or bright artificial lights
- Compact, lightweight, and rugged at under 55 grams
- Rejects common spoofing attacks
- Emits no bright lights during scans
- Meets or exceeds US military durability specifications
Smarter
- One SDK for all IB scanners, compatible with IB software offerings
- Responsive support team that answers in hours, not weeks
- Twenty years of FBI certifications and live field deployments
- Extremely low power consumption with no consumables to replace
Patented LES Technology
Integrated Biometrics' scanners use our patented light-emitting sensor (LES) technology to deliver fixed and mobile FBI certified fingerprint imaging in an exceptionally durable, lightweight scanner.
LES-based biometric solutions provide picture-perfect image quality in both direct and indirect sunlight and are resistant to finger contaminants such as grease, oil, water, dust, and chemicals.
Where Sherlock Shows Up
Embedded & OEM Integration
Sherlock is the IB sensor most often built into someone else's device. It has shipped inside Northrop Grumman's BioSled, S.I.C. Biometric Solutions' SMARTcase, the Tascent MX compact enrollment unit, Corvus Integration's BPT800, and other multi-modal devices that need a certified fingerprint sensor in a tight envelope.
National Identity & Field Enrollment
Mobile enrollment and field verification programs at country scale. Vietnam's national ID program uses Sherlock for citizen identification in the field, part of an enrollment campaign that issued tens of millions of biometric IDs in under two years.
Law Enforcement & Mobile ID
Smartphone- and tablet-based identification platforms for police and security forces. Pairs cleanly with Android and iOS sleds, partner mobile cases, and ruggedized handhelds that run on commercial smartphones.
Multi-Modal Biometric Devices
DoD-compliant and AFIS-compliant collection kits that pair fingerprints with iris, face, or document capture. Sherlock provides the certified fingerprint side of the stack alongside iris cameras, smart card readers, and barcode scanners.

IBScan Ultimate SDK
The unified SDK that drives every IB scanner. One toolkit across the line, so integrators do not learn a new API for every device.

A software toolkit for integrators building biometric systems on top of IB hardware. Modular framework, simple APIs, and a faster path from prototype to production.
